PGP Ascend Gridiron started with a simple idea: youth sports should belong to the kids and the communities they serve.

We're an independent youth flag football organization created by a local dad who wanted something different for his own children and families throughout the community - a safe, welcoming and competitive environment where kids can play, develop, build confidence and simply enjoy being kids.

After a long week of school, we want Gamedays to be something they look forward to. A chance to get outside. Compete.  Make a great play.  Make a mistake.  Learn from it. Support a teammate.  Meet new friends.  And go home feeling good about themselves.

WHY INDEPENDENT MATTERS

We're not a branch of a national league or backed by a large corporate sports brand and that's intentional.  Being independent gives us the freedom to build PGP Ascend around our players, our families and our community.  We can listen, adapt, create our own traditions and make decisions based on what we believe will provide the best experience for the kids on our fields.

Our community isn't just participating in PGP Ascend. It's helping us build it.

MORE THAN FOOTBALL

We love competition.  We want close games, big plays, rivalries, playoffs and championships.  But winning isn't the only measure of success. 

Sports have the power to teach confidence, resilience, accountability, teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship and respect.

We want our players to learn how to win with humility, lose with grace, respond to adversity, support their teammates and understand that mistakes are part of getting better.  Most importantly, we want them to develop the self-esteem and confidence to believe in themselves.

BUILDING WHAT COMES NEXT

Football may be what brings us together, but our purpose is bigger.  Our goal is to help develop strong, healthy and confident young people who become great teammates today and positive leaders and pillars of their communities tomorrow.  Years from now, they may not remember the score of a Friday night game. But they may remember the coach who believed in them.  The teammates who supported them.  The friendships they made.  The time they bounced back after a mistake.  And the confidence they discovered along the way.

That's the kind of league we're building.
